The Artist at Work Making Vases

The artist is building a slab mask.
The mask is slumped, and textured with a variety of surfaces.

"My interest in the Mask as an artform started when I lived in Tuba City for one summer. We would go over to Hotevilla on the Hopi Reservation to watch the Kachina dances. I could not help from being infatuated by the designs and feathers of their masks. I have incorporated a great deal of texture and color into my masks with the main emphasis being Human emotions."
